In the short time the study on the anti-atherogenic properties of both extra virgin olive oil and the one enriched with green tea biophenols will be published in an official scientific journal.
The study has been performed by Prof. Michael Aviram – Lipid Research Laboratory-Technion Faculty of Medicine-Rambam Medical Center, Haifa (IL) in a animal model with Apolipoprotein-E deficiency.
For humans a clinical study in individuals with cardiovascular disease will be performed by Prof. Amir Lerman at Mayo Clinic, Rochester-MN, US: the response on endothelial function and other plasma markers will be studied to assess the biological properties of green tea biophenols enriched olive oil versus the extra virgin itself.
